Friends Book Sale April 23-25
Looking for some great spring and summer reads? The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library’s Spring Book Sale will be held Thursday-Saturday, April 23-25, in the library’s community room, 6251 St. Andrews Road.
This year’s Spring Sale is being held during National Library Week, April 19-25, and we will have refreshments and giveaways on Saturday as part of the celebration
The members-only sale will be Thursday, April 23, from 2-6 p.m. One of the perks of being a Friend of the Irmo Branch Library is that you get to shop early for the best books! You can become a member at the door for as little as $10.
The public sale will be:
Friday, April 24, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m. –4 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO SUNDAY SALE HOURS
Most books are priced from 50 cents to $2, and you can save even more by purchasing a bag to fill at a fixed price. Members receive a discount on purchases of books by the bag. Some CDs and DVDs are also available. Payment is by cash, check or card.
The Friends have a huge selection of all types of books, including a large number of children’s books, thanks to our recent Donation Days events, and some specially priced vintage books as well. Special deals are planned during the sale, and money from the sale will go to help fund Irmo Branch Library programs, services and materials. You can also purchase Friends T-shirts and tote bags.

2025 Encore Performance of ‘Murder on Main Street’
On Main Street
The Friends were delighted to present an encore of the original Mystery Dinner Theater play, “Murder on Main Street,” at The Venue on Main Street in downtown Columbia, in the same block as its setting in 1910. The performance was on July 25, complete with costume contest. Thanks to everyone for your support of this major fundraiser! (And thanks to Rob Thompson for the photos.)

Thanks to our 200 guests that helped solve the mystery of what happened to Capt. Savage Raines, at Saluda Shoals River Center, Crab Cakes & Murder, July 23, 2022!
In addition to the many events offered by the Library and its staff, the Friends sponsor their own special events, including appearances and book signings by local and regional authors, art shows and sales, special luncheons, receptions and our very popular annual Mystery Dinner theater presentation.

When you can’t perform live theater, you improvise! The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library presented a virtual mystery play, “Death’s Shadow” on Sept. 25 and 26, 2020 via Zoom. The audience was given the chance to help solve the murder case and vote on the perpetrator. Fun was had and funds were raised to help the library.
